Solar Panel and System Maintenance

Solar panels generally require very little maintenance in order to function. However, neglecting maintenance may reduce system performance and in some cases void warranty, it is best to check you warranty documentation in your handover pack for this.

There are two sides to maintenance: solar panels (modules) and inverter.

Solar Panels: many in the industry are considered self cleaning especially anything over a pitch of 42°, yet stubborn dirt can remain stuck to the panels for long periods of time, this is why we recommend cleaning every 3-6 months depending on pitch. Nesting of birds and rodents under panels is also an area for concern,  this is best checked by a simple visual check. If noticed it is best to immediately get removed as can cause many issues such as  panel damage which may void warranty and cable deterioration making the system unsafe. The best way to prevent this issue is bird deterrent systems, this is something we offer to install, so if you have any queries or concerns please don’t hesitate to contact us.

Inverters: require little to no maintenance, it is mainly only required on fan ventilated inverters for cleaning, yet regardless of this it is best to check manufacturers guides as each inverter is different and require different maintenance.

There are specialist tests such as Voc, Isc and insulation resistance that we offer when performing maintenance to check the systems performance and safety.

We offer a range of maintenance packages depending on your systems needs, this is why we recommend you contact us if you would like to go forward with protecting your systems efficiency protecting revenue and safety.
